A verdict & a billion dollar fine: A Consumer's perspective.

You all know what is meant by the title. If not, lets get into little history.. The US Federal court has passed a verdict this Friday, on the ongoing legal war between Samsung & Apple wherein Samsung was asked to pay Apple a sum of approx 1 billion US$ as damage, for 'willfully' copying the design (trade dress) of the Apple iphone in Samsung's selected 'Galaxy' series phones. This is the hot talk in the tech world over the past hours. Keeping the victory/lose stories aside, here androidappjournal is trying to look at this verdict from the eyes of the consumer.

[Review] Amazing Alex from Rovio : More physics this time.

After the insanely successful game, Angry birds; the mobile game developing studio Rovio is back with another sensational game Amazing Alex. If it was all the bird slinging rage against the egg stealing piggies till now, Rovio is introducing us to Alex, the smart school kid.
There is nothing ground breaking in the underlying game concept as there are already some physics based games available for android. The game definitely looks childish, but if you love this genre of games, you're going to love this too. Apart from the obvious kiddish looks, the game is smooth and fluid.

[NEWS] Google now allows app developers to publish privacy policy for the apps

A major announcement was made by google at the Google I/O, regarding allowing the app developers to publish privacy policy to the apps they publish. This move is in an attempt to bring more transparency to the permissions required by  app the user installs. This move makes a lot of sense considering that the user allow the apps a lot of permission to access his personal data. Using this facility the app developer can now let the user know the intention behind the permissions and the way the app will use the personal data it  access from your android phone.
